Accountability Counsel submitted comments today to Secretary of State John Kerry as part of the development of the U.S. National Action Plan (NAP) on Responsible Business Conduct. In November, the U.S. government announced that it would be accepting submissions as it develops a NAP consistent with the U.N. Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. Our submission stresses how the U.S. government can promote responsible business conduct, protect human rights, and ensure access to effective remedy in accordance with the U.N. Guiding Principles and OECD Guidelines.
