Shelby McGuire-Smith is a third-year law student at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where she focuses on international human rights and immigration law. At Georgetown, Shelby is a member of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal and has represented an asylum seeker in immigration court proceedings through the Center for Applied Legal Studies.
Prior to attending law school, Shelby served for a year as an AmeriCorps Public Ally in Orlando, Florida, and then spent a year as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2015, she graduated from Rollins College with a B.A. in International Relations and a minor in German.
