Sarah Singh

Attorney

Sarah is a 2010 graduate of UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall).  Following law school, Sarah was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Marsha S. Berzon of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  At Boalt, Sarah was an active member in the human rights community, representing victims of paramilitary human rights abuses in Colombia through the International Human Rights Law Clinic, asylum seekers through the California Asylum Representation Clinic, and an Iraqi man targeted because of his work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project.  Sarah also researched issues regarding women in armed conflict as a member of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) Working Group, as well as joining the board of the Boalt Hall Committee for Human Rights.  Outside school, she sought out opportunities to work on issues of corporate accountability, including spending a summer in Ecuador working on a case against Chevron, volunteering at the Bowoto v. Chevron trial in San Francisco, and externing as a Spring 2010 Law Fellow at Accountability Counsel.  Sarah also serves as a board member of EarthRights International.  Sarah graduated with an undergraduate degree in International Relations from Brown University.  In between her undergraduate and legal studies, Sarah interned for EarthRights International in D.C., worked on energy efficiency and renewal energy programs at the Natural Resources Defense Council in San Francisco, and volunteered for the Comitê para Democratização da Informática (CDI) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  Sarah speaks Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
